The private riverside deck at Herons Rest overlooking the River Severn

Private fishing · Riverside cabin · Bewdley

A private riverside retreat with fishing from your own three pegs.

Three private fishing pegs, a large riverside garden and peaceful days beside the River Severn. A characterful, hand-crafted timber cabin filled with original art — a place to fish, create, read or simply watch the river go by.

The Experience

Tucked away on the banks of the Severn, Herons Rest gives you three private fishing pegs of your own, a large riverside garden and slow, peaceful days right beside the water.

A characterful, hand-crafted timber cabin surrounded by nature, with a private deck and small covered porch and reliable Starlink Wi-Fi, a short journey from the historic town of Bewdley. It's also a much-loved retreat for artists and writers — the cabin belongs to artist Morena Artina, whose original artwork is displayed throughout, giving the interior a personal, individual character.

Herons Rest is a simple, unpretentious riverside retreat for those seeking peace, quiet and a closer connection with nature. We welcome returning guests and new guests by personal recommendation.

Our aim is to keep Herons Rest a peaceful sanctuary where the cabin, river and wildlife are treated with care and respect.

Private fishing

Three private fishing pegs, just for guests.

Herons Rest has three private fishing pegs within its own grounds, for the exclusive use of guests. Step straight from the garden to the water's edge and cast a line whenever the mood takes you — at first light, after breakfast on the deck, or as the evening settles over the Severn.

With the river on your doorstep and no one else to share it with, fishing here is unhurried and yours alone — one of the things that makes a week at Herons Rest so hard to leave.
